Sunday Oct. 8, 2023, at Holy Cross featured a baptism during Mass as well as a bake sale at the weekly coffee social afterward, when children in this year's and last year's First Holy Communion programs made fresh waffles and sold them and other baked goods brought by parishioners. Proceeds were donated to the Frankfurt community of the Missionaries of Charity (the St. Teresa of Calcutta sisters), who already receive food donated at the weekend Masses at St. Leonhard's and Holy Cross for their meal programs for the poor. A visiting band performs familiar songs of praise
