For our youngest members
The parish is glad to welcome so many young families at its three Masses every weekend. At each service, the children are invited to bring the parishioners' food-charity donations to the altar at the Offertory Procession, and to encircle the altar when it comes time to recite the Lord's Prayer.
Special seasonal event in May 2025: A Mother's Day art exhibit, with the theme Mary, Our Mother
As May is one of the Church's special months during the year for honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, the parish will hold an exhibit of artwork created by its young members and featuring the Blessed Mother following the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass at Holy Cross on Sunday, May 11 (Mother's Day in Germany, the United States and a number of other countries), in the Parish Hall during the coffee social.
The parish's regular programs for children include:
- A Family Mass, usually quarterly at Holy Cross, when the hymns, Bible readings and homily are especially arranged so the children in the congregation can easily understand them.
- Children's Liturgy of the Word, on the third Sunday of every month at Holy Cross, at which children 4 years old and above are provided an age-appropriate Liturgy of the Word in a nearby room during the readings and homily at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The kids rejoin the congregation in time to take part in the Offertory Procession. No pre-registration is required.
