Mass Schedule for Advent & Christmas 2025


Services as we prepare for the Birth of Jesus celebrations
English-language Masses and other services in the run-up to Christmas 2025 are as follows:
First Sunday of Advent, Nov. 29-30, 2025
- 5 p.m. Saturday, St. Leonhard's: Vigil Mas, followed by a short concert by the Haste Töne choir
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Holy Cross: Quarterly Family Mass at Holy Cross, followed by the weekly coffee social in the Parish Hall downstairs
- 5 p.m. Sunday: Mass at St. Mary's
Second Sunday of Advent, Dec. 6-7, 2025
- 5 p.m. Saturday, St. Leonhard's: Vigil Mass, followed by a short concert by the women's choir Mainklang
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Holy Cross: Filipino Festival Mass, with hymns in Tagalog and Bisaya, followed by a pot-luck meal provided by parishioners from the Philippines at the weekly coffee social in the Parish Hall
- 5 p.m. Sunday, St. Mary's: Sunday Mass
- 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Liebfrauenkirche, central Frankfurt: The parish choir sing Advent carols, part of Liebfrauenkirche's annual nightly Advent concerts
Third Sunday of Advent, Dec. 13-14, 2025
- 5 p.m. Saturday, St. Leonhard's: Vigil Mass, followed by a short concert by the parish choir.
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Holy Cross: Sunday Mass
- 5 p.m. Sunday, St. Mary's: Sunday Mass
Fourth Sunday of Advent, Dec. 20-21, 2025
- 4:30 p.m. Saturday, St. Leonhard's: Opportunity for parishioners to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in advance of Christmas, followed by 5 p.m. Vigil Mass, with the block-flute ensemble Flautando performing afterward
- 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Holy Cross: Sunday Mass, followed by an opportunity for parishioners & visitors to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in advance of Christmas. The weekly coffee social also takes place afterward in the Parish Hall
- 4:30 p.m. Sunday, St. Mary's: Opportunity for parishioners & visitors to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, followed by 5 p.m. Sunday Mass
Celebrating the Nativity of the Lord Jesus and honoring his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary
English-language Roman Catholic Masses in Frankfurt am Main and nearby Liederbach am Taunus during the 2025 Advent/Christmas period are as follows:
Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025
- 2:30 p.m., doors open at Holy Cross, providing worshipers with a chance for quiet reverance and prayer before a caroling program starting at 2:45 p.m. The Mass will begin at 3 p.m.
- 8:30 p.m., St. Mary's: Mass (Note: Starting time is 3 1/2 hours later than the usual weekly Sunday evening Mass)
Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025
- 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross: Mass during the Day (Note: 1 hour later than the usual weekly Sunday morning starting time)
Vigil Mass of the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025
- 5 p.m. at St. Leonhard's: Weekly Saturday Vigil Mass
Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025
- 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross: Weekly Sunday Mass
- No Mass at St. Mary's
Mass of the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2025
