After-Mass Socials -- Seeking Sustainability
Fellowship following Mass, now with a push to reduce waste
Every week following the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at Holy Cross, coffee, soft drinks and snacks are provided in the Parish Hall, giving parishioners a chance to catch up with each other and to welcome newcomers into our community.
As of September 2024, the parish is renewing efforts to reduce costs, eliminate waste and cut back on the need for washing up at the coffee social, part of a larger sustainability effort. Parishioners are now asked to bring their own reusable coffee cups to the social and take them back home when leaving. Paper or plastic cups will no longer be available.
Volunteers are always needed to prepare the serving tables and drinks, clean up and put things away and, during the week, obtain supplies when required.
