Heating Restrictions During Winter 2022-23

The current political, social, economic and climatic developments present us all with major challenges and changes--and this also applies to churches and church buildings. First and foremost, there is the acute challenge of reducing energy consumption and the associated costs as much as possible. Therefore the Catholic Church in Frankfurt (Stadtkirche) has decided to heat the church buildings at only a minimal level during this winter. For our parish, that means it will be much colder at Mass, so please dress accordingly, with warm jackets or coats, gloves, etc. If you received a blanket as a parish gift at one of the Christmas 2022 Masses, we strongly encourage you to bring it to church to keep yourself warm during the 2023 winter services. Also, there will be no heat in the Holy Cross Parish Hall, so it is best to keep your coats on during the coffee social. It might be a bit uncomfortable this winter, but if we all pull together and take these small steps, we can really help in conserving energy. Thank you for your understanding.
