Efforts to Stem the Pandemic

The Diocese of Limburg, in line with the State of Hesse's new laws for large gatherings, requires all churches to follow Germany's 3G rules to prevent the spread of Covid-19. This means that, in order to attend Mass on Saturdays or Sundays, as well as major holidays, you must show proof of being either:

1.  Geimpft (Vaccinated) - or-
2.  Genesen (Recovered) -or-
3.  Getestet  (tested with a negative rapid- or PCR-test result from a TEST CENTER no older than 24 hours; home tests are not valid for this purpose)
In additon, you must also show your personal ID.

Note that

  • Children and teenagers are exempt from 3G as they are regularly tested at school
  • 3G is in effect only for the weekend Masses.  The Tuesday evening Mass at St. Leonhard's is, at the moment, exempt from the 3G requirement

We will have people checking for proof of 3G at each Mass before you enter the church. Please have all documentation ready so that the process can go as quickly as possible. Also, it is recommended to arrive a bit earlier than usual.

You are also required to maintain a 1.5-meter distance from people who aren't from your household, and to wear masks (medical or FFP, KN95 or N95 filtration masks) at all times while in church.

As a reminder, if you are not feeling well, please stay home.  And if you feel uncomfortable attending Mass, for whatever reason, please take advantage of online Masses. While not a perfect solution, television or online Masses are still an option to fulfill your Sunday obligation. We thank all our parishioners in advance for your cooperation.  As followers of Christ, we are obligated to take care of each other.  Please be patient and kind.

If you have any questions regarding the new procedure, please feel free to contact Pastoral Associate Lori Bemb at l.bemb@parish-frankfurt.de or tel. (069) 2193-6500. Also, please contact fellow parishioners who you know do not have email or social media to inform them of these rules.
